VISITOR AND INFORMATION CENTER BLACK FOREST NATIONAL PARK RUHESTEIN

RUHESTEIN | GERMANY

The Visitor and Information Centre at Ruhestein, designed by Sturm und Wartzeck, is conceived as an educational hub for the Black Forest National Park. The timber-shingled structure sits low in the landscape, opening through large windows and terraces that create a sense of transparency and connection to its forested surroundings.

Inside, spaces such as the foyer, café, exhibition halls, lecture rooms, and cinema are organized along a central public axis. Within this setting, the REMO wood with metal structure and REMO plastic are combined with the MART round tables, the furniture provides a clear and functional language that complements the natural material palette while supporting the building’s contemporary character.
